Robert "Bob" "Bobby" Decker, 72, of Middletown, NY, passed away on November 15, 2025, at the Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with dementia.

He was born on April 5, 1953, in Ellenville, New York, to Theodore and Amy Decker (Merritt), the youngest son of eleven children.

Bob was the proud father of six children—Mary, Stephanie, Robert, Jonathan, Spencer, and Erika. He was lovingly known as "Poppi" to his cherished grandchildren- Olivia, Adam, Gavin, Grace, Savannah, Amayah, Annabella, Ariel, and Ares, all of whom adored him deeply. Bob is also survived by Lucille Folino, his former wife and the mother of his children.

He is predeceased by siblings, Theodore R Decker Jr., Marilyn Filis, William Decker, Darlene Levoy, Sarah Read, Susan Geer, and survived by Barbara Stamatopolus, Thomas Decker, Patricia Euans, and Debra Guthrie.

Bobby was an avid outdoorsman and a lover of music. He found his greatest joy in the natural world. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in the quiet of the woods and water. His connection to nature was matched only by his love for animals. He collected antiques, enjoyed history, listening to his records, and playing his guitar.

Fiercely patriotic, Bob held a special admiration for the American bald eagle, a symbol that resonated deeply with him.

Bob retired from the Orange County Sheriff's Department after a dedicated career in service. His generosity, humor, and strength touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered with immeasurable love and gratitude. May the memory of Bob bring comfort and peace to all who mourn him—because that is truly what he would have wanted. Cremation arrangements have been managed by Brendan & Thomas Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Chester, NY.

A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1 pm to 3 pm at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.
