"Honoring the lives and memories of those we love."

August 28, 1940 — November 12, 2025
Maybrook, NY
Mary Gridley, a longtime resident of Maybrook, NY, formerly of Chester, NY, passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 85.
The daughter of the late Henry and Anna Damers, she was born in Havana, Cuba, on August 28, 1940.
Mary was a member of the CUFSD School Board Press and a Girl Scout leader.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt (to many), nanny, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a dedicated volunteer to the communities of Chester, NY, and Lake Ariel, PA, for many years. Traveling was her passion, and her love of puzzles was infinite. “Can’t do” was not in her vocabulary, and to the very end, she did it her way.
She was the widow of Edmund F. Gridley.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia Gridley Salerno and Eileen Gridley Brown; her grandchildren, Joshua and his wife, Allison, Cailin, Andrew, and Ryan; and her great-grandchildren, Paisley and Elizabeth. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and truly loved by them all.
