Joseph Longo of Monroe, NY, was a Verizon Communications Telephone Manager for 45 years and a 50-year resident of the area. He passed away on August 15, 2024, at his residence. He was 80 years old. The son of the late Giovannicola and Mary Longo, he was born on April 27, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York.

Joe was a member of St. Anastasia Church, past president of Pop Warner Football, season ticket holder of the NY Rangers & NY Jets, and pitcher for the NY Telephone Softball league.

Joe is survived by his wife Margaret Longo of Monroe, NY, and their children Nicholas (Kim) Longo, Joseph (Yvette) of Nashville, TN, Jennifer (John) of Tappan, and Mary (Thomas) of Monroe, New York. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Cam, Taylor, Vanessa, Mackenzie, Nicholas (Mira), Peyton, Madison, Riley, Raegan, Michael, Desmond & Timothy; numerous nieces/nephews also survive Joe. Joe is also survived by his sister Rose and his sister-in-law Marguerite And Doris.

Joe was predeceased by his brother Francis, his brother-in-law Gene, Joseph, Gerrard, Kathy, Ann, Thomas, Lucy, and Donald. 

Joe was a quiet, soft-spoken man with a kind heart and gentle spirit. In his leisure time, he found great joy in solving his NY Times crossword puzzles, immersing himself in the worlds of science fiction movies, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Joe found purpose in his children's and grandchildren’s accomplishments.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, located at St. Anastasia Church, 110 Rt 17M, Harriman, NY 10926. Burial will follow at St. Anastasia Cemetery.
