Hubert “Dave” Keller, Sr., aged 87 of Washingtonville, New York, passed away April 19th, 2025. 

He was a loving husband to his late wife Betty of 66 Years. He was born on May 15, 1937, to the late Hubert and Esta Keller.

Dave enjoyed classic country music and would and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He also had the honor of being on the cover of 50 Main Street: The Face of America by Piero Ribelli in 2012. He was a long-time employee of Spindler Bulk. Dave was a Past Chief and Life Member of Monell Engine Company in Washingtonville, New York.

He is survived by sons, David, and his companion Eloise Martin, of Salisbury Mills, NY, Brian of Washingtonville, NY, and daughters Betty Ann, and her husband Marc Blanchette of Washingtonville, NY, and daughter Pamela Jonisz of Washingtonville, NY. He was also a proud grandfather (Poppy) to his 6 grandchildren, David John (Blair) Keller, Thomas Keller and his Fiancée Melissa Jarer, Andrew (Jacqueline) Kerwin-Keller, Erik (Sophia) Jonisz, Matthew Keller, and Brandi Blanchette, along with his 5 great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Emily Keller, Magdalyn Jonisz, Penelope Kerwin-Keller, and Aaliyah Hill. He is survived by his loving sister Antoinette Davidson, sisters-in-law Wilma and her husband Charlie Sturm, and Dolores Schultz, and brother-in-law Sam Weed, along with many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased in death by an infant daughter, Denise Keller, his sisters, Helen Vadala, Shirley Weed, Janice House, Sandy Lang, Sharon Green, Ruth and Beverly Keller and sister-in- law, Carol Simpson, brothers-in-law John Bennett, Jr., Gordon Schultz, Walt Vidalia and Joe Lang, daughter-in-law Petrina Keller and his mother and father-in law John Sr. and Anna Bennett.

Cremation care will be provided under the direct supervision of Brendan and Thomas Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, NY.

Hubert's family entrusted his care to the Flynn family and the Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers staff.

The service will be on Saturday, April 26th, and start at 12 p.m. at Monell Engine Company, 89 East Main Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. Burial will follow at Chester Cemetery, 24 NY-17M, Chester, NY 10918. We will then return to Monell Engine Company for a Celebration of Life.
