William Smith, of Monroe, died August 7, 2022. He was 82 years of age.
William was born on March 4, 1940, to the late Roswell and Margery Smith in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Pop Pop), great grandfather and a friend to many people, he was a true gentlemen. Bill played college football at East Stroudsburg University and spent most of his 30-year career as a Physical Education teacher at Central Valley Elementary School while coaching football and swimming at Monroe Woodbury. Bill was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors, especially vacation time at Ocean Beach, New Jersey. Once Bill retired, he enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and he was their biggest fan. Bill was also a good neighbor and helped out anyone in need - a true role model.
Bill is survived by his wife Carol Smith.
Bill is also survived by; sons Scott (Kathleen) Smith of Goshen, and Mark (Patricia) Smith of Middletown. Grandchildren; William, Katherine, Erin, Blake (Martin), Asher, and Noah, and Great-Grandchild Rowan. Bill is also survived by his brother Steven (Catherine) Smith.
The Smith Family would like to thank Park Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Facility, Garnet Medical Center and all of the aides so much for taking great care of Bill.
