Stella “LOUISE” Crist of Saugerties, N.Y., a former 40-year resident of the Highland Mills area and retired Registered Nurse, died on February 18, 2024, at her home in Saugerties, N.Y.

Louise was 76 years of age.

She was born in 1947 in Fairborn, Ohio, the daughter of the late Irvin and Deloris Baker.

Louise worked for over 40 years at Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen, N.Y., and Horton Hospital in Middletown, N.Y. She was a Licensed Lactation Consultant in addition to working in labor and delivery.

She was the widow of Edward Joseph, who died in May of 2018.

Survivors include her daughter Jennifer D’Arcy of Glenville, N.Y., Matthew Crist of Greenbrier, TN, and Rebecca Crist of Saugerties, NY, along with her grandchildren Bethany and Erin Crist, Baker, Jamison, and Emery D’Arcy.

Her siblings surviving are a sister, Patricia Knight, her husband Homer, and her brother, Douglas Baker, and his wife, Alex Wiest.

Louise was pre-deceased by her sister Doris Shaw, her husband Bernice, sister Rose Morris, and husband James and brother Jim Baker.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.

"The Hudson Valley Nurses Honor Guard Inc. will be providing a tribute at 2:00 PM."
