Patrick F. Galvin of Chester NY a retired Sergeant with the New York City Police Department for 30 years and a 50 year area resident died October 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years of age. The son of the late John and Mary Ellen Galvin he was born in the Bronx in the year 1940. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. We will miss you forever. Patrick was a member of St. Columba R.C. Church in Chester, NY. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and then became a member of New York's Finest, first as a Police Officer then obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jane Galvin and their children: Patricia and her husband Thomas Kelly of Chester, NY, Julie and her husband Charles Silsby of Goshen, NY, Nancy and her husband Mark Sorge of Circleville, NY, Maryellen and her husband Clive Corin of Bloomingburg, NY, and Michael and his wife Jeanne of Fairfield, CT. He was a very proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren: Jillian, Elizabeth, Madeline, Kristen, Meaghan, Daniel, Mark, Matthew, Christopher, Julia, Allison, Patrick, Michael, Thomas and John. He is also survived by his brothers Daniel and his wife Dawn, John and his wife Deidre, James and his wife Jeanne and his sister Kathleen and her husband James Hogan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Patrick was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Edward and Philip. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018, during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Columba R.C. Church located at 27 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Burial will follow at St. Columba R.C.
