Mirtha Lina Rivera, a beloved mother to three children, passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2025, at the age of 75, in Newburgh, NY. 

Born on August 5, 1949, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was a loving woman who touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Mirtha devoted her life to her family, embodying the roles of mother, friend, and unwavering support to many.

She is known for her infectious smile, her love of music, and love of family. Her wisdom, generosity, and compassionate nature made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her. 

She is survived by her children, Vivian Plata-Martin, Janet Andrews, and Lina Coleman, her grandchildren, Amanda Plata-Hill, Andrew Martin, Mason Andrews, Jaden Ortiz, Gavin Andrews, Makai Coleman, Arianna Martin, Myles Coleman, Mya Coleman, her great-grandchildren Caleb Ortiz and Zemira Ortiz.

We will forever cherish her warmth, authenticity, faith, strength, care, and boundless love.

She will be deeply missed, eternally loved, and her memory will remain in our hearts, always and forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.

Repast immediately following the service at Saxon Hall, 1400 NY-300, Newburgh, NY 12550.

The family entrusted Mirtha's care to the Flynn family and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center's staff.
