Mary Margaret Dean, 80, of Boca Raton, Florida, a former longtime resident of Chester, NY, passed away at her home in Florida on November 15, 2023.

After a fulfilling career as a Para Educator, Mary embraced a new chapter in her life as a resident of Florida for the past 14 years.

She was born in New York City on June 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Humphrey and Margaret Darling.

Mary, also known as Mary Wonderful, was a beloved wife, mother, nanny, great-nanny, and board game enthusiast. We are grateful for the many memories of playing games as a family. She will truly be missed.

Reunited with her late husband, Eddie, and no longer in pain, may she eternally rest in peace.

She is survived by her daughter Maureen Grube and husband Carl of Washingtonville, N.Y., her son Ryan Dean of Boca Raton, Florida, and her grandchildren Heather Grube, Stephanie Grube, Tyler Dean, Melanie Dean, Kaitlyn Dean, Samantha Dean, and her great-grandchild Desmond Grube-Callan.

Mary was also predeceased by her siblings, Richard Darling and his wife, Ann and Joan Golway.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.



Burial will follow at Chester, 1 Hudson Street, Chester, NY.

Brendan and Thomas Flynn, as well as the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, have been entrusted with Mary's care.
