Mary J Spencer of Blooming Grove NY, died on April 15, 2023. She was 91.
The daughter of the late Patrick J. Smith and Mary Theresa Maguire, she was born January 27, 1932 in Manhattan.
She was predeceased in life by her husband William J Spencer and her son William Spencer.
Mary was a pediatric nurse for 35 years at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern NY. She we was also an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Monroe NY and devoted much of her time to charitable organizations. She enjoyed travelling with family and friends, particularly anywhere with a beach.
She is survived by 5 children, Mary Anne Hornung with her husband Neil of North Andover MA, Christopher Spencer with his wife Deborah of Naples FL, Sheila Flamm with her husband George of Matawan NJ, Patrick Spencer with his wife Jodi of Plainview NY and Matthew Spencer with his wife Cindy of Irvington NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Spencer, Christian, Charles, Michael, Stefanie, Aidan, Abigail, Shannon, Matthew and Katie.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Sacred Heart Church located at 26 Still Road, Monroe, NY 10950. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Judes Hospital.
Funeral care has been placed with Thomas & Brendan Flynn and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. staff.
