Mary (Nee: Nolan) Bessinger Chester, NY (02.17.1930-03.11.2018) Mary Nolan Bessinger Chester, NY Mary Nolan Bessinger of Chester, New York, an underwriter for the New York Life, died in the compassionate care of the staff at Middletown Park Manor. The daughter of the late Thomas & Mary Nolan, she was born on February 17, 1932, in New York, New York. Mary was a child of Irish immigrants and she grew up with a love of all things Celtic. In her youth, she loved to dance an Irish jig, and the music always made her tap her feet and smile. She shared decades of friendship with; Ann Bessinger, Eileen and Maureen Fahy, and Regina Petrakis. We are so thankful for the memories they all shared and the burdens they took from mom's shoulders. We are grateful for the love and kindness shown to her by her nephew and his wife, David and Linda Robie, as well as wonderful friends, Lynda Scocozza, Eileen Sullivan, and Jeanette Avellan. She always said her mother prayed for her to meet a wonderful husband. Those prayers were answered when she married the love of her life, George Bessinger. Through his illness and passing, she was a source of strength for our family. She adored her grandchildren, Brenna and George Lawson, and her joy was evident whenever they spent time together. There is a traditional Irish lullaby that she sang to her children and grandchildren. We send her to the gates of heaven with these words from that lullaby: "Oft in dreams I wander, to that cot again. I feel her arms-a-huggin me as when she held me then. And I hear her voice a hummin' to me as in days of yore. When she used to rock me fast asleep outside the cabin door." Mary was widowed by George Bessinger. She is survived by her son William, daughter Alice Lawson son in law David Lawson all of Chester, NY, as well as grandchildren Brenna and George Lawson. A Wake will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, during the hours of 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 139 Stage Road Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 11:00 AM in St. Columba R.C. Church, located at 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Burial will follow in the family plot located in St. Columba R.C. Church Parish Cemetery, Chester, NY. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
