John F. Cawley of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at Valley Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey, surrounded by care and compassion.

The son of the late Thomas and Anna Cawley, John was born on July 13, 1938, in New York, NY.

He worked as Corporate Security for IBM for over 30 years.

John was a devout catholic, loved his family, and was a very gentle and caring person. He was very involved with his parish, St. Catherine’s, and helped people every chance he had.

John is lovingly survived by 12 nieces and nephews, as well as 20 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 9 am, with a Memorial Mass at 10 am at St. Catharine Church, located at 905 Maple Ave., Glen Rock, NJ 07452. Cremains will be interred afterward at St. Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave., Bronx, NY 10465.

Cremation care is being respectfully provided by Brendan T. Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, New York.

The Family has entrusted the care of John to the Flynn Family and the dedicated staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers. The Family invites all who knew and loved John to share a memory or leave a message of condolence to be cherished and remembered.
