James C. Schmidt a longtime resident of Washingtonville, New York died peacefully at his residence on April 3, 2024.
He was 74 years of age, born in Brooklyn, New York to James and Cathryn Schmidt, he worked as a Welder for MTA.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, brother Herman and nephew James.
No public viewing will be held.
Private services were held at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers 3 Hudson Street, Chester, N.Y. 10918 with family and friends celebrating stories of James and some poems or viewing of his artwork during his life celebration.
A Night cap was held in his Memory, and a group of us will continue to keep his nightly "NIGHTCAP TRADITION ALIVE".
Cremation will follow at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, N.Y., with Brendan & Thomas Flynn providing actual cremation care for James.
The Flynn family and staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center were held in the care of James, who helped his family with the funeral and cremation arrangements.
