Giovanni (John) Alfredo Spadafora passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 in Marietta GA. Our Dad was born March 20, 1928 in Queens, NY to Alfredo and Lucia Sorrentino Spadafora. On April 28, 1951, he married the Love of his Life, Frances Rose Bartolotti in Bronx, NY. Sadly, Mom became our Family's Guardian Angel when she passed away in January 1983. He was also predeceased by our brother, John Spadafora Jr., Granddaughter Jennifer, and siblings Nicholas Spadafora, William Spadafora and Carmella Spadafora Ivazes.Dad proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1945 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Occupation of Japan and the Korean Conflict and was a retired N.Y.S Corrections Officer. He was a true patriot who loved our Country and all it stands for.Dad is survived by his sons, Paul Spadafora and his wife Jayne Tinker, Steven Spadafora and his wife Joette, and Daughter-in-Law, Deidre Spadafora. He was Grandfather to Hannah, Steven John, Patricia, Diana, Meaghan, Michelle, Heidi and Ryan, and Great-Grandfather to Owen, Julia, Rowan and Sawyer. He is also survived by Brother-in-Laws Frank Bartolotti and his wife Anna, and Lawrence Bartolotti and his wife Angela, and many beloved Nieces & Nephews.Dad will be forever missed by all who loved him and knew him. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020, during the hours of 11:00 AM to1:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 3 Hudson Street, Chester, New York 10918. Burial of Cremated Remains will follow at St. Columba R.C. Parish Cemetery, Route 94, Chester with Military Honors.
