Steven S. Mezzio, Ph.D, CPA, died on February 6, 2025, after a six-year courageous fight against pancreatic cancer.


 His sheer will to live and personal strength helped him to strive on with purpose as he fought to survive. Steven had been a partner at PwCbefore he became a Professor of Practice, Accounting, Auditing and ESG at Pace University, Lubin School of Business, New York, NY, where his roles included Founder and Executive Director of The Center for Sustainable Business, Associate Dean and Professor of Practice, accounting and sustainability. He is the author of multiple articles and books and was devoted to his profession. In his free time, he volunteered with many different organizations. He was the past President of NYSSCPA, was on the advisory board of PBS, as well as working with the United Nations and being on the Content Committee for the Uniform CPA exam. 


Steven is survived by his sister, Maria Felton, his nephew, Anthony Ferraro, and his niece, Lisa Samson.
